The Cockatoo  Room

The Cockatoo Room is a 93sqm function room with a timber truss cathedral ceiling that opens to a 47sqm veranda and 37sqm breezeway between it and the kitchen and lounge/bar area. The room can seat 80 seated diners and the veranda a further 30. The room contains a wood fire, PA systems, stage lighting, decoration wiring,  stored tables and chairs for 120 and a rising stage. All finishes are timber is a beautiful location for a wedding reception. If you choose a marquee reception on our lawns where up to 120 guests can be accommodated in a single space then the Cockatoo Room can be used as a chapel and/or as a casual gathering space for your guests.

D0me   Marquee

Our hexadome marquee option, either bare or clad with fabric, is currently the subject of an application to Council for use by up to 120 wedding guests. Approval hopefully by September 2020. Its 175sq m size allows space for musicians and a dance floor.  A winchable truss which can be decorated at ground level has basic waterproof, dimmable, colour-selectable, strip-lighting attached. A laser ball and basic led spotlights are also available. Guests are free to add lighting and other decorations, hire furniture as desired.

Lawn  Events

Bawley Bush Retreat has large levelled and  graded lawns adjacent to the function room and to the dome marquee that then sweep down to the lake. Most couples choose the lawns for their ceremonies but the lawns can be used also for open air/alfresco  celebrations or events or for placing a preferred marquee hired from a third party in preference to using ours. This too has a maximum of 120# and subject to same Council application mentioned above. Note, outdoor music will have tighter volume restrictions than indoor.

Nearby Beaches!

A popular beach environment for local weddings is the Bawley Point Beach Reserve just 3km drive away.  Pebbly Beach in Murramarang National Park where the surfing kangaroo pics went viral is 25 minutes away. Other beaches are  North Beach, Cormorant, Gannett, Murramarang and Shell Beach. The Gantry and headlands of Bawley Point  are beautiful barren rock areas and could provide a dramatic backdrop for wedding or post-wedding photos. note: before hold your ceremony on a beach or reserve you must first obtain Council permission.
