Accommodation

Bawley Bush Retreat accommodation cottages are set in a forest of burrawang ferns and spotted gums adjacent to Lake Willinga on the mid South Coast of NSW. All our cottages embody sustainable building, water and waste practices. Care is taken to ensure our vistas, sweeping lawns, bushwalks are well maintained. All cottages are self-contained, have high quality linen, dishwashers, wood fires and BBQ's.  All our permanent beds are kings and can be unzipped to make singles and we supplement with comfortable foldups. We can accommodate around 35 wedding guests on site. Kookaburra Cottage

Kookaburra Cottage is a very comfortable large 4br home with exposed Australian hardwood timber, clad in compressed earth bricks, tiled floors downstairs and fully insulated, carpeted and air-conditioned upstairs with a view over the adjacent lily-covered dam. 

It has 2 large king-bed bedrooms upstairs, one downstairs and 1 small bedroom with 2 singles that can be zipped to a king. Up to 15 wedding or retreat guests can be accommodated using extra fold out beds in the bedrooms and in the living room. The Bathrooms are downstairs.

Because there is a large socialising lounge in the function area the use of cottage lounge rooms for extra sleeping does not restrict opportunities for catching up with family or friends. 

Note-Kookaburra is not suitable for children due to the immediate access to the adjacent dam.

Chefs   Cottage

Chef's Cottage is an earth brick, hand-finished cottage with a loft and cathedral roof. It has lake glimpses through the trees. The high ceilings and extensive use of natural materials impart a comfortable, rustic ambiance. Chef's has its kitchen, lounge and 2 X king-bed bedrooms downstairs. The upstairs loft room can be set up with 2 king singles or king bed plus 2 foldups.  So a total of 3 couples or up to 8 singles can be accommodated. 

The kitchen has an island preparation bench, crockery, cutlery and glasses for a party of 10 though during events all food is generally prepared in the function catering kitchen. Dining can be inside or outside on the deck.  There is just 1 inside bathroom/toilet but there is an additional outdoor shower and bath. Note that groups have full access to the 3 extra showers in the function area.

Cormorant & Oystercatcher Bush Apartments (or Seabird Cottage)

The Cormorant and Oystercatcher Bush Apartments are duplex 1br units that can be joined to make the  3br "Seabird" Cottage. They are closest to the function area and overlook the sweeping lawn towards Lake Willinga. Each apartment is completely self-contained with the living area and kitchenette downstairs, bathroom on the mezzanine-level and a large king-bed+ bedroom in the loft upstairs. The apartments can be interconnected on the mezzanine level. With sharing, each apartment can sleep up to 6 people (4 upstairs, 2 downstairs) and each has a dog yard at rear. Each is equipped at 4 star level with everything you could need.
